Station 1: The Last Supper.

Jesus’ ministry was announced by John the Baptist who said “Look the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world”. At the end of his ministry, in Jerusalem, Jesus has an evening meal including lamb as part of the Passover celebrations. The shadow of this symbolism hovers over the party as they feast. As the disciples argue over who is the greatest, Jesus breaks bread, and the blood red sacrifice of the lamb bringing a new and total liberation.

Lord, Jesus, lamb of God,
you take away the sins of the world,
have mercy on us,
grant all of us who show true repentance,
the mercy of your peace.

Holy God,
holy and strong,
holy and immortal,
have mercy upon us.
